Mindfulness Based Arts and Stress Reduction Course
This course provides AMA PRA Category 1 CME Credits & AOA Category 1-A CME credits
This course is designed to help physicians improve self-awareness and learn skills in managing stress. We will identify the signs and symptoms of burnout and acknowledge ways we can improve our personal well-being. We will explore goals of self-compassion, creativity, productivity, self-advocacy and empathy. These skills will be applicable for use with self-care when applying to one's self as well as helpful to share with patients in day to care as they struggle with stress and anxiety as well.
Chose a 4 or 8-session block.
Each session will include the exploration of one culture or region throughout our globe through your senses.
Whether it be with your palate, eyes or your smell as we enjoy a meal together while reviewing handpicked articles or sharing experiences about the skills we have learned from past sessions. As we immerse ourselves further through ceramic design in creative play, we will improve the mastery of mindfulness through visual, tactile, postural and in-the-moment awareness. This will be followed by some form of meditative, mindful or CBT technique that is best suited to the culture/ region we have honored for that week. The evening winds down with dessert. Those who choose to linger to work on pottery or share more are welcome.
This interactive exploratory group methodology will allow for improved cohesion and support among the participants and the building of community that you can take with you to create in other aspects of your life and your profession.

These activities help address certain relevant blindspots within the clinicians’ clinical, administrative, and personal day-to-day practice. While learning these skills and practices, they also learn how they can be applied to themselves, their patients and their peers. This is accomplished during group coaching, journal article review discusiions, CBT, meditation, mindfulness skills learning and application discussions. The clinician is prompted to reflect upon how the program applied to their day-to-day. This reflection is reviewed in the following sessions and shared with the group. Feedback on what worked or did not and how to modify the skills to apply them more effectively is discussed for better efficacy going forward. Participants have the opportunity to record all their progress and details in a journal provided at the beginning of the course.
In support of improving patient care, this activity has been planned and implemented by Continuing Education, Inc. and Silver Spaces, LLC. Continuing Education, Inc. is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), to provide continuing education for the healthcare team.

The North Carolina Osteopathic Medical Association (NCOMA) is accredited by the American Osteopathic Association to provide osteopathic continuing medical education for physicians. The NC Osteopathic Medical Association designates this program for a maximum of 14 AOA Category 1-A credits and will report CME credits commensurate with the extent of the physician’s participation in this activity.
I've partnered with Learner+, a platform where clinicians earn CME credits for reflecting on daily learning experiences.
Testimonials!
“This course was what I looked forward to each week- it was rejuvenating & much needed: during these difficult times, but also for any physician or anyone taking care of others. Realized we absolutely need to take care of ourselves first. Everything was wonderful – from the INCREDIBLE food, the lovely pottery skills & art we created ourselves, the calming min-body techniques & all the amazing women & meaningful conversations. I would absolutely recommend this course to anyone”
“ Five out of five stars. Randie’s MBSR and pottery program delivers. On the go breathing and mindfulness techniques are education credits I put into practice daily – not the 10% I usually bring home from CME. Delicious meals and pottery elevate this course from evidence-based science to a balm for burnout for busy professionals."
“Randie is an amazing instructor and the pottery workshop was such a relaxing way to connect with other physician moms in a no stress environment. Working with the clay is therapeutic on its own and I was so proud of the pieces I was able to create my very first time. She is also a gourmet cook and the food we shared was absolutely delicious!”
